DEXTER-----Tanner Strout and Sean Cody combined to throw a four-hitter in leading the Foxcroft Ponies baseball team to an 8-0 victory over Dexter on Tuesday afternoon.

Strout started the game and worked around two base runners in each of the first three innings. Dexter had runners on second and third with one out in the third inning. Strout retired Dustin Sirabella and Adam Wintle to get out of the jam.

"Tanner (Strout) did a great job bearing down and getting out of trouble when he needed to,"Foxcroft coach Mark fake oakleys for sale Chevalier said. "He made some big pitches in the early innings to keep them off the scoreboard."

The Ponies got the scoring started when Eli Olsen singled to start a two out rally during the top of the second inning. Olsen stole second base and advanced to third on a passed ball. He scored on a Brandon Brock single.

Foxcroft broke the game open with a four run top of the fourth inning. The Ponies had four hits and took advantage of a Tigers error during the rally.

Olsen, Brandon Brock, and Chandler Rockwell each reached base and discount oakleys scored during the inning. The trio combined to go 4-6 with five runs scored, three walks, and two RBI.

"Eli (Olsen), Brandon (Brock), and Chandler (Rockwell) did a great job moving some innings along and getting us back to the top of the order,"Chevalier said. "Brandon is particular has done a really nice job at the plate over the past three games, his first career varsity starts."

The return of Hunter Law and Brooks Law was a boost for the Ponies. They missed three games last week due to being out of state for their brothers graduation. Brooks is the starting catcher and a key at the top of the lineup. Hunter is the only senior on the roster. He plays center fielder and is the number three hitter.

"Having them (Hunter and Brooks) back is huge,"Chevalier said. "They add so much from an offensive, defensive, and leadership standpoint."

Sophomore Abe Simpson had two hits for the Ponies. Simpson has stepped in as lead-off for the Ponies. Clay Carroll was doing a great job at the top of the Foxcroft batting order, until a quad injury sidelined the junior.

"Abe (Simpson) has taken the lead-off job and run with it,"Chevalier said. "He's stepped cheap oakley glasses up his play in all areas of the game and has emerged as one of the better players in the conference."

Cody pitched two scoreless innings to lock down the Ponies victory. He allowed two hits, didn't issue a walk, and struck out one.

"Sean (Cody) came in and threw strikes and did a great job preserving the shutout,"Chevalier said. "He's worked hard all year, and it was great to see him succeed in his first chance on the mound."

Hunter Law and Olsen recorded two runs scored best cheap sunglasses and two hits each. Brock scored two runs. Foxcroft (7-5) will play a doubleheader against PCHS on Thursday.

Nate Robichaud allowed four earned runs on eight hits and four walks in six innings for the Tigers. He struck out six. Daytona Gould recorded two hits Dexter (4-8) will travel to Central on Thursday.
